Lira Capturing Audiences in a 6 City Sweep

Fresh off the plane from her successful global tour, Lira returns to the SA stage with The Captured Tour: in Association with Nokia. From 30 September to 29 October, Lira will dazzle fans at top venues in 6 cities across the country.

Afro-Soul Singer Lira: Back

The Captured Tour: in Association with Nokia can be likened to a homecoming for Lira who has spent the last few months touring overseas in a bid to launch her international career in Europe and North America. This was through an album which features a collection of the songbird’s best of songs.

Lira’s SA tour will include songs from all of her albums, as well as, new arrangements and additions to the hit. There will also be a few surprise performance collaborations with South African greats – so fans have something extra special to look forward to. The Captured Tour: in Association with Nokia  will end with a bang  at the Sun City Superbowl on 29 October. The grand finale concert will double up as a DVD recording which will be the singer’s second.

“We are making this the biggest DVD production ever captured on African Soil, again,”, says Robin Kohl, DVD production head and manager.  “We’re taking what we did in 2009 and doubling the scale – we are also capturing Lira’s performances through the eyes of fans at each and every destination, throughout the tour. Fans will be part of a truly interactive capturing process and become our roving camera team in each venue. We will find “superfans” in each city who will be given tasks to film Lira, backstage happenings and gain an all access experience as to what goes on behind the scenes in Lira’s world. This is the most powerful experience we have been able to offer fans and is the very concept behind this tour”.

“The size of this production and the fact that we’re making history is part of my mission for this tour,” says Lira. “I wanted to capture the experience of my shows through the eyes of my fans.”
